CO2 FLOODING SYSTEM

WHAT IS CO2 FLOODING SYSTEM
CO2 FLOODING SYSTEM

The CO2 Flooding system usually consists of a series of large CO2 cylinders connected with piping and fitted with a discharge nozzle at the end. this system works on the principle of displacing all the oxygen from the environment as it has a high expansion ratio which is rapidly and effectively eliminated oxygen from the environment. CO2 gas at atmospheric pressure is non-conductive, odourless and colourless so it is essential to evacuate premises as soon as possible.

The fire carbon dioxide flooding system is used when there is no water available or in an emergency when water is not available.

CO2 flooding system application can be seen in the pump room, boiler room, engine room.

A fire carbon dioxide flooding system is a method of fighting a fire that uses carbon dioxide to extinguish the flames. Firefighters release carbon dioxide into the building, and it works by dispersing throughout the air and forming a consistent blanket of gas over the fire. As this CO2 blanket surrounds the flame, it rapidly cools down until it reaches about -76 °C
